Every competition has two ways in, side by side, with the same odds:
Both routes write into the same ticket pool, allocated by the same system, checked in the same live entry list. A free entry is never a second-class ticket.
Online: use the "Free entry" tab on the competition page. You'll need your name, email and postal address. Entries are checked by hand — usually within a day or two — before a ticket number is issued, mainly to catch spam and duplicate entries.
By post: write your full name, email address and postal address on a plain postcard, along with the name of the competition (e.g. "Golf R32 draw"), and send it to the postal address on the contact page. One free entry per person per draw.
Before any tickets go on sale, a random seed is generated and its cryptographic hash is published on the competition page — proof the seed existed and hasn't been changed since. The seed itself stays secret until the draw.
When the draw closes, the seed is published in full, along with the final entry list and the exact calculation used to turn the seed into a winning ticket number. Anyone can check the result on the verification page — you don't have to take our word for it.
Every draw is livestreamed, and every winner is published on the past draws page.
Every competition states a minimum number of tickets that must be issued for the draw to go ahead. If that minimum isn't met by the closing date, every paid entry is refunded in full and the draw does not happen.
